The power of prayer is not the result of the person praying. Rather, the power resides in the God who is being prayed to. This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of him. No matter the person praying, the passion behind the prayer, or the purpose of the prayer - God answers prayers that are in agreement with His will. His answers are not always yes, but are always in our best interest. When our desires line up with His will, we will come to understand that in time. When we pray passionately and purposefully, according to Gods will, God responds powerfully!
We cannot access powerful prayer by using magic formulas. Our prayers being answered is not based on the eloquence of our prayers. We dont have to use certain words or phrases to get God to answer our prayers. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.
Distress, sadness and ill-health, these major cause to hit and paralyze anybody. Moreover, if friends, family, counselors and doctors are not capable to help, then do whom you look for. This could be the opening option to prayer that provides you.
Swami Sivananda, founder of the Divine Life Society, Rishikesh, reassures like:
No problems that cannot be solved by prayer, no distress that cannot be allayed by prayer, no difficulties that cannot be surmounted by prayer, and no Evil that cannot be defeat by prayer. Thus, he advises: go down on your knees and pray.
Prayer can simply be described, spiritual union with God through single-minded devotion.
Prayer is to do something for giving Thanks, a feeling of surrender and Assuming that there is a power standing beyond me. Its a reconfirmation of having faith in a divine power, Spiritual connection with something higher.
Social activist and reformer Asghar Ali Engineer says,And if the desire of prayer is for a negative use, that person will never get the inner peace.
However, is it a prudent practice to pray with supporters to have a success? May be But remember one thing, you may request, not demand. God is not bounded to you or somebody in contract with you says Father Diniz.
In the modern time people are loosing faith over dharma and the demons of doubt and materialism are attacking the human race, causing them unhappiness. This has brought miseries and unhappiness to the mankind.
Seeking hep from stranger is begging, Seeking help from known person is request, seeking help from almighty is prayer. In begging we become object of pity,in request we become object of mercy, But in prayer we become object of divine love.
God loves those who pray to him, no one can pray without faith or devotion for him. Most of the problems we are facing today either in individual life or social life, are due to negligence of social values. We have systematically eliminated vital aspects of human existence. We have changed our aim from men to money. man is pushed to the background. We forget that its the man who makes matey and not vice versa. in modern time we are so busy we shave no spare time prayer and meditation. Homes are converted into cinema theatres and fast food centres which provide food only for body and senses, neglecting soul. This can be sorted out by prayers and prayers only. But people rather regular praying they use prayer as their insurance policy i,e when in problem use it and when not answered condemn it.
The ancient Indian philosophers elaborated three ways for self-actualization -GYAN, the path of knowledge, KARMA, the path of action and BHAKTI or the path of devotion. It is the third path of Bhakti which guides the individual to submerge himself, his ego, his pride and his arrogance in his devotion to the almighty lord of universe. Prayers are a means to this end. Prayers make individual happy and feel a kind of satisfaction. Prayers are considered an essential part of bhakti. Prayers help people in three important ways. First of all, regular prayers are reminders to self that there is an almighty Lord of the universe who is always there, aware of everything and capable of taking care of us. Since the Lord is benevolent and fair, and rewards everyone as per their deeds or KARMA, it is a belief that provides hope to the people that good will prevail over evil. This is one of the most important factors for people having faith in our values, fairness and humanity.
Second, by being able to express their faith, people are able to relate to the god whom they cannot otherwise experience or observe, and this simple activity reinforces their faith in an omnipotent power of universe and helps them sustain their belief.
Prarthana in other words means prayer or worship. Worship is the first route towards pursuing the Bhakti route for Godliness. The other step is Puja. In other words, a specific form of worship which involves an offering of a material object, or the mind, or the body, or the soul to God. Puja when done properly guides oneself towards God, and while doing Prarthana (praying), the Almighty draws closer to the devotee. Therefore it is a two way motion that brings the worshipper and the Worshipped closer. About the prayers, the Bhagavat Gita, the holy scripture of hindus explains beautifully.
Translation: Of these, the one who is in full knowledge and who is always engaged in pure devotional service is the best. For I am very dear to him, and he is dear to Me.
Translation: The individual Self is the traveller in the chariot of the material body and the intelligence is the driver. Mind is the driving instrument and the senses are the horses. Thus, the Self is the enjoyer or sufferer in the relationship between the mind and the senses.
Bhagavat Gita says: The virtuous ones who worship Me are 4 kinds, the man in distress, the seeker for knowledge, the seeker of wealth and the man of wisdom. Oh! Lord of Bharathas (Arjuna) Of these the wise one who is ever in constant union with the Divine, whose devotion is single-minded, is the best, for supremely dear to him and he is dear to Me
